Board of Directors

Lee Hetherington

Lee plays the role of Engineer, Entrepreneur and Evangelist across several domains in the Edge space at Meta. Currently focused on building distributed compute infrastructure for current and future experiences at planetary scale. Lee has spent the last 25 years working across Interconnection, Edge Strategy and Network Architecture for a number of different companies in the space. Lee also recently left a 6 year term as Non-Exec Director of the London Internet Exchange

    Peter Helmenstine

    Secretary

    Peter Helmenstine is the lead Network Architect for the data center company Digital Realty which supports its IP network and Internet Exchanges. Past work has included managing a global IP and Ethernet network for Yipes and deploying the first PNAPs for Internap. On the side, Peter also volunteers for the PeeringDB Product Committee and Admin Committee. Peter is a native and resident of San Francisco.

      Chris Malayter

      Chris Malayter is the Vice President of Network and Interconnection at CoreSite, a position he has held for over 13 years. With a deep expertise in the network infrastructure and interconnection space, Chris has played a key role in advancing CoreSite’s leadership in the data center industry. In addition to his work at CoreSite, Chris has been actively involved in the broader networking community. He served as the Secretary for Open-IX, an organization focused on setting technical standards for data center interconnection, and as the President of the Board of Directors for PeeringDB, a critical resource for the global Internet peering community.

        Matt Peterson

        General Manager, Co-founder

        Matt Peterson is a principal at Two P, an infrastructure consultancy based in San Francisco. Matt’s experience has run the gamut of building teams & technology to manage and automate networks, data centers, and systems for companies including Tucows/Ting Fiber, Cumulus Networks, Tumblr, and Square. He also founded SFMIX, the first non-profit Internet Exchange within San Francisco. His work has been presented at numerous industry events, including NANOG, RIPE, Velocity, BSDcon, Defcon, and CCC Camp.

          Walt Wollny

          Walt Wollny is the Director of Interconnection Strategy at Hurricane Electric, supporting the company’s global network reach across over 56 countries and more than 320 Internet Exchanges. He focuses on global connectivity and expanding into new markets. With over 25 years of experience in the Internet industry, Walt previously worked as an IP Business Development Manager at Amazon. During his tenure, he supported the deployment of over 64 new CDN builds, including in markets such as Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Australia.

            Tim Pozar

            Co-founder

            Tim Pozar is a principal at Two P, an infrastructure consultancy based in San Francisco. Most recently Tim was the VP of Operations at Fandor, an indy streaming company. Prior to that, he has also specialized in operations for UnitedLayer, Brightmail, and Alexa/Internet Archive. Tim is also the network architect for the City of San Francisco Community Broadband Network (CBN) that supports free Internet access to 16,000 of the residents of City’s Housing Authority as well as dozens of non-profits and open spaces around San Francisco.

              Justin Seabrook-Rocha

              Treasurer

              Justin Seabrook-Rocha is the Manager of Network Engineering at Dialpad. He spends his days designing and building the next generation of Cloud PBX platforms. Previously he was a Network Engineer for RagingWire Data Centers where he built transit and SCADA networks, and Hurricane Electric where he helped push forward the cause of IPv6. In a previous life, he specialized in Linux system administration and software engineering, and today enjoys expanding the role of automation and standardization in the network world.
